woops

well i know i havent been doing very well with keeping this updated, theres been alot going on and ive been pretty busy. gage has had a few visits and i honestly cant remember when i wrote last time. however gage is now 3! its hard to believe and he is getting smarter by the minite! he is saying new words and sometimes sentances but not very consistant with those. im pretty happy with how were going. we just had a meeting called the ifsp? its mostly talking about where gage is at now and what goals we are wanting to have met. gages sence of humor has blossemed even more also its so funny. i cant really make you a good list of what all words he has said but i know some of the most recent words he says is moo for moon and even moomoo for mom or mama lol its kinda funny but he normally only does it when hes talking to fast to try and work with it. weve been working on trying to get him to say drink instead of da or whatever and that isnt that easy but i think weve gotten close a few times he can say woah and we try to use that to get him to say water so were working on that but we got him to say wawa for water which he does good but when he wants a drink we havent gotten him to come up to us and say he wants wawa he still does his da thing. like i said before i cant even express how stinking smart he is and how much smarter hes getting hes even singing with some songs its pretty funny. well id say when  his next app is but actually i dont know when that is i dont even think i wrote it down on the calender i guess i need to go and find that paper but for the most part i think thats it i could be wrong but thats all i can think of for now ttfn!

switched visit

well due to codi getting sick this week we werent able to go to ks for gages bday so we switched visits so we can go this week so this blog is for that visit on the 9th. i cant really remember alot ive have alot of very long days and nights with little sleep, i dont remember what all they did other than play with some tractors and animals. gage had done alot of communicating with his teachers i dont believe he had said anything really new but he was just talking alot more and asking more it seemed. although we do now have a new word we can add to his list of words today i was in the kitchen with my mom who came up to help me rest or do what really needed to be done and i asked gage to take his trick or treating bucket he got from mc donalds before halloween. i had been trying to get him to say the words "trick or treat" for halloween and i couldnt get him to do it so to carry on i told him to go and put his bucket in the dinning room so he took it held it up and said "trick or treat!" ugh why now two weeks after! but its so sweet and he keeps saying it he said it several times for daddy when he got home so we gave him some candy from his other halloween bags lol. i love this kid sooo mcuh he is always learning new words he is soo close to talking like normal im so proud of him. because we got his visit switched he doesnt have his next one until the 30th and it will be a different type of visit im not sure how much they will actually work with him but well see

ok well ive missed a blog..

ok so this is going to have to work as a double blog because he had a visit then another visit before i could even get on here they were only about a week apart IF!
i dont remember the days but i remember what had gone on. dustins step mom and dad were up here and i had forgotten the ladies were even coming i had it written down but i was mixed up on my days until i made a phone call. either way they ladies came and they had plaied with him i think with a touchy book at first then carol had brought out her moon sand. gage didnt do alot of talking but he did alot of interacting and doing what he needed to get what he wanted such as a tool or something but he wasnt talking alot. after they had left he was talking more and more even started saying two word sentences :). i dont remember what new words he had come up with after they left but obviously he was saying them by the time they came back the next week.
new words or words say more and more that gage has said: i do, in there, blue, yeah, no, night night, nanna(for banana not grandma like normal) hi. and there are others i just cant seem to think of them and every time hed say something new id think oh i need to blog this just never had the time! two kids walking makes it all crazy!
this last wednesday at his second visit. they came and the kids were still eatting their lunch so while gage finnished i talked with them and informed them of the things gage has been saying and then they all began to play. they were playing with a peg board type of thing where gage could stack them up and such. he did a TON of talking during this visit hes saying words that you know he is saying something you just cant quite figure it out yet.. he also did a bit of drawing he is doinng amazing at drawing it looks like he is actually trying to draw something its not always clear what hes trying to draw but you just know it! im so proud of him this is sooo much fun codi is talking as well its just soo much fun talking to gage and him actually talking back to me saying yeah or i do or no or something he is so wonderful im so happy about this! that is pretty much all so far his next app is this comming wednesday

oct 12th...

so im a few days late from his app ive been so busy lately so im so sorry. so gage had another visit on the 12 and as you know today is the 15th ugh! i wish i would have gotten to this that day i have one heck of a horrible memory these days too. well i cant really remember if he said any new words  he always is but its not always catchable. they right down a few things that he says and he was doing a fantastic job talking with them, and corrosponding with them and such. i had asked them a few questions about milk cuz i have learned something about whole milk i didnt know and that made me wonder if that was part of why he is a late talker. we were also talking about gages since of humor they said 2 and 3 yr olds dont have a since of humor like gages at all and as i was thinking about it you really dont see that until boys are atleast 5 before they find farting and farting noises funny the way gage does and other things. you have to know gage is very smart and finds things very funny esp things on more grown up shows. its hard to really express how gage really is by typing it almost has no real say in who he really is you just have to get to know him! i now feel like though that we arent in this stand still so much anymore i feel like more and more hes picking things up so that is wonderful! i think this is everything so far gages next visit i think is the 26th and i will do my hardest to get on and write by then.

sept 30th

sorry im a day late in writing this again but there was a birthday in the family so yeah. gage had a visit yesterday and gage showed them the upstairs and how he LOVES his lite-brite. they plaied with some building blocks and gage was trying to say blocks he was doing great getting the "b, ah" sound out for it. although sometimes im not sure if he was trying to say blocks or more but it sounded like more to me.. hes doing really good but i do feel like were almost in a stand still hes still trying and working with it but its just slowed down i dont think hes idk what im rying to say lol. the good thing is hes still trying. he continues to work onn saying food even better so that is wonderful to me! i dont think theres anything else right now his next visit is i think the 12th. oh idk if id said this begore but he is saying cheese esp when he wants his pic taken soo if anything happens or i remember more and the kids arent driving me insane ii will post until the 12th then.

sorry a bit late sept 21st (on the 22nd lol)

well i didnt have a ton of time to post yesterday after gages visit and i forgot that night too. im not really sure what all happened yesterday i was doing alot of talking with gages teacher michelle about gage and the fits hes been having and some other stuff about gage while carol was working with gage. however gage is saying "blue" now it makes me happy and he is also kinda saying hi you can tell thats what hes saying but hes not saying it very clear you really hear the "h" sound the most but its a step up and thats great and now he says "bye" instead of his bubye which is great and cute! hes also doing soo great with food i taught him how to say food by taking the sounds he already knew how to say and had him repeat each sound after i said them and then encouraged him to say them together but for awhile he was just saying "faaa" but now we can actualy get a "fffooooo" out of him and if you remind him to say the "da" he normally does. :) his drink is still da but with ALOT of perswading you can kinda get a dr out of him. lately weve been dealing with alot of fits and tantrums with him and its been taking a test on me its pretty had to deal with because he just doesnt know how to tell us why he is upset or what he wants and its hard on us all but we seem to be making it. im ready for this to get easier but this is something god has planed for us and hes helping us and teaching us i just have to keep praying to give gage more words. well i think thats most of what has happened here lately his next visit is on the 30th and that is my oldest 4th bday so i cant promise ill be writing that day/night but if i have some time while the kids nap since gages visit is in the morning i will certainly do my best :)

sept 7th

well today was another speech visit for gage and the second one with his new teachers. it went pretty well although when they got here gage was in trouble so he was pleased to go to his play room with them lol :). they played with some of his toys and they had brought some books along and an old pamason bottle with some poker type chips and gage was playing with those. its kind of amazing how they are able to get sooo much out of him just during play. they got him to say "chips" it was pretty funny when he learned that they were called chips he picked it up and acted like he was eatting it like a real chip. carol was reading gage a book with a barn and other barn animals and then they were pretending to eat the hay which carol didnt like the taste but gage loved it then michell asked gage to feed her pet cow and horse some hay too so gage picked some up out of the book (remember this is pretend still) and he acted like he was ganna give then in his mouth it went  then he took the book to the cow and horse and fed them :). it was also pretty funny when carol would ask gage for a chip gage kept saying no! its was adorable i thought ha. today i was able to get him to say cheese hes always getting so smart and quit the smart talker lol. although he is already really smart its just with him being able to talk and express it even more we are seeing more and more of this increadable smartness that just hasnt been able to come out yet and he is always amazing me even when its one of those smart moments that doesnt consist of words. i truely do love this little boy and its taken a lot of work to get him to where he is now and to how close he is to just exploading with words i cant even really count how many words he can say although it is mostly due to i forget then he says it again and im like oh yeah ha! oh and normally gage says buh bye all cute and the other day on the phone he said bye plan as day no slur no nothing just like how its spelt and how you and i would say then he also said it to the delivery lady who was dropping some stuff off at our house! he still says buh bye like normal but his bye with everything is just so pronouced its awesome :). i think thats pretty much all that has been going on i hope i didnt forget anything but if i did and i remember it or if something HUGE happens i will write another blog about it, if not his next visit is i think the 21st? at one again so if you dont hear from me before youll hear from me by the 21st after his visist :) hope you enjoied.

transition visit

well as i said id write after every meeting, atleast. today gage had his meeting and jenny came with the two new ladies and gage ran right up to jenny and hugged her forever then took the new lady michell into his room to play with his toys. the new carol was in the living room with me and jenny talking for a quick min then we all went into the play room. gage seemed to do really good with the new ladies but i still worry what will happen when the next meeting comes and there is no jenny. it was sad to see her go im still not happy about it  but these new ppl seem really nice.  gage still continued to talk and interact but i think its still ganna take a while for them to get the hang of gage but we all seemed to have fun :). gage didnt want jenny to go when it got closer for them to leave jenny laid in her lap and just wanted to stay there i think that really made her day and hopefully not making it harder to leave i know gage loves the "old" carol and jenny and i know they both adore him, hes a wonderful and great little kid and so much fun. it seems like michell (i actually dont know if this is how she spells her name so it may change when i remember to look it up) and the new carol will have alot of fun with gage carol said gage is the only child she has even know to have never had an ear infection at all esp since hes almost 3 now which goes for me other than gage and codi i dont know another child whos never had one i know ive had one but idk if i did as a baby. makes me happy and proud. really there wasnt alot going on it was mostly catching up and letting them and gage get to know each other while i filled them in and jenny and i helped them learn some things that have seemed to worked in the past so there isnt alot to say other than that. i think his next visit is at 1 on the uhhh well ill just go look it up lol. ok so his next visit is at 1pm on sept 7th so well just have to see how that goes.. he gets 3 visits per month we were talking about making it 4 around now but i decided we will just wait and see for now since the last couple of visits he was doing alot more mimicing (sp) so we will see this is a new journy for us again with this switch but so far so good :).

the beginning

well i guess i should just start at where this all started huh. when gage was still a baby he was never much of one to do alot of talking or anything he was always happy doing whatever he wanted and was happy esp when i was with him he made tons of noses but just didnt talk like other babys probably did at his age. his first word was mama and then it was dada and that became his favorite word said all the time for everything. as he got older 1yr to 2yrs old dada was still all he said there were few other ones even as a baby ive heard him say words like no and shoe but never consistant or said more than once maybe twice and i remember when he was 1 around easter he had said happy birthday and asthma (sp) i swear by it and my hubby too, theres been a few words hes said before but nothing ever consistant or said more than one of two times other than dada. dustin was more and more concerned about gage the closer we got to him being 2 and i knew there was nothing wrong with my baby it was in instinct i have had since heck idk since he was anywhere from 3 to probably 6 or 8 months old. to put some comfort in dustins mind i agreed we could see a pathologist and see what could be going on. oh and keep in mind gage is now almost 3 and has NEVER had a single ear infection and has perfect hearing. so sometime around last year in december or so we got one to come and see and by january we were accepted into speech for gage and we started it in the new year. it was tuff in the start they had to figure out how to aproch him to keep him in contact with him. they learned very fast that he was a very very intellegent child and knows how to do anything to not talk. after gage got use to his teachers it became easier and we saw alot more progress. we as his parents had to learn everything he was we started teachign him sign language and he caught on very fast within a day of showing him only a couple of times. we all learned new words to say in sign and new techniqes to getting him to talk some work some arent the best but with tons of working on it does in the end. gage is saying more words now and he says mama again alot more and it pleases my heart soo much im no longer always dada i am sometimes but not so much. not all of his words really sound so clear his "thank you" can sometimes be mixed well combined he will slur them sometimes and his "bless you" sounds alot like thank you but he only says it when you caugh or sneeze. he says "nana" and my mom absolutely loves it even though weve heard gage say grandma before i think he prefers nana :). theres sooo many words he says now but they arent really said on a daily basis but he does say them more than just a couple times, and most of the words he says we just have to take in mind of whats going on at the time. im so proud of how far he has come but having so many of my friends with kids gages age a couple months older or almost a whole year younger than him saying things like i love you mommy or other really cute stuff like i miss you or even saying why they feel the way they feel it breaks my heart even though i really love hearing that from all of my friends and im even proud and these kids arent mine but it really does break my heart, and i always wonder what it is i did and to me you can tell me i didnt cause this i didnt do anything to make him not talk but i will FOREVER think what if or what did i do. right now the only time i get a amazing feeling you other moms get from their child is when i see or talk to my first born whom was adopted when i was in college and she says i love you stevie and her little voice is so precious but it even makes me wish for one day to hear that from gage just to come up kiss or hug me and say mommy i love you then run off. i long for that. gage says love you but its very slured and sometimes hard to make out but i can tell and it melts my heart when he says it even though i have to work to get him to say it alot of times. gage is always amazing me hes a super smart child and a wonderful child even though he hasnt been the best listener these last few months hes the best kid a mom could have but its so frusrating to not know what he wants or how he is feeling. he was just sick last week woke up from nap fussy and we werent sure why he isnt normally sick and it was weird for him to go down for a nap perfectly fine to wake up sick in a matter of 1.5 to 2 hrs. we had no clue what was up until we took his temp and then by 7 he threw up and he got a temp as high as 101.4 first time weve had to handle that and it was soo hard to do we didnt know what hurt or what was going on all he did was fuss which is understandable but hard to deal with. now gage is almost 3 and is getting new teachers which concerns me TRAMENDOUSLY! (sp) gage tends to be shy to certain ppl it took several visits for gage to feel comfy with the women that are having to stop coming for his visists i worry hes going to revert back and i worry about it all weve come a good way and i dont want to lose this gage has made a close bond with these women that normally come and for head start to just do this pisses me off greatly.but gage has a visit on wednesday i think dustin said at 3 soo we will give it a shot dispite how angry i am that this even has to happen (all cuz some principals retires or some crap). although gage has become quite the fast learner with his words lately hes been doing alot more mimicacing (sp, sorry im a  horrible speller and i could care less about worrying where to place periods comas ect.). i have alot of worries and the state of nebraskas head start or whom ever is the cause of this can bet if im not happy they will for sure hear it from me. well im sure this is going to end weird considering i have a ton on my mind about what im missing have said or was going to say but forgot but for now i need to finish stuff around the house and go to bed considering its 1120pm if i dont read and write more tomorrow i will most deff be writing new blogs as his visits happen or i have any news on gage to  update on as for now his visits are 3 times a month just for aheads up, so if you dont hear anything tomorrow or so youll deff hear from me by thursday i get so busy with the both of the kids i dont have a lot of time to post a blog. so im ganna end and say good night update soon :)

lets get introduced

hi everyone! ive decided to make a whole nother type of blog strickly for my son Gage. my son has no problems that we know of yet with any disabilities or anything like that hes too young for us to know if hes gotten any of mine or his fathers gentetic traits such as i have A.D.D and his father has bipolor, however we do deal with our almost 3 yr old not being able to talk. no he isnt deaf he can hear and he CAN talk its just he doesnt and this is going to be a blog about how hes doing with his speach and how i personally am coping with all of this, id add in how his dad feels but since i dont normally know i cant but when i know something he feels ill add that in too. since weve been doing this speach thing since jan weve been doing it for awhile and have come along way i believe but this is just my introduction to what i am doing with this blog and i have every intention to make another post tonight or tomorrow to get this started and caught up. i would have done this earlier if i had known about blogs i know no one really fallows my other blog and im ok with that i do alot of ranting on there so sometimes i dont want someone to see it but this isnt about that. so ill write soon to get caught up on these last 7 to 9 months and whats going on here soon :) hope you all enjoy this.
